UHF Wind Profiler

To meet expanding wind profiling needs, NARL is proposing a new UHF radar system with a state-of-the-art technology. The proposed radar will be a user adaptive instrument capable of many configurations to allow maximum use in many scientific applications. The proposed profiler operates at 915 MHz/1.3 GHz with an active antenna array and will be able to probe from 100 m to 6-8 km in clear sky conditions. The array will be configured in a quasi-circular aperture with square grid. The radar will have the capability of operating in both Spaced Antenna mode (SA) and Doppler Beam Swinging mode (DBS) for better height coverage.
