Location: The Scientific requirements dictated that the Indian MST Radar should be located preferably below 15° North latitude. After careful consideration of various constraints, a site (13.5°N, 79.2°E) at Gadanki Village, near the temple town of Tirupati in the state of Andhra Pradesh located on the Chittoor-Tirupati main road was selected. NARL has a picturesque landscape spreading over an area of about 55 acres.

How to reach NARL:

Gadanki is about 35 km southwest of Tirupati town. Regular bus services between Tirupati and Chittoor ply through Gadanki. On request, NARL can provide transport between Tirupati and Gadanki.

Reaching Tirupati:

By Air :The nearest airport is at Renigunta (15 kms). Tirupati is directly connected by air with Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore. From airport one can hire taxi or take a bus to Tirupati.

By Rail : Tirupati is well connected by rail with Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, NewDelhi etc.,


By Road :
Tirupati is well connected by roads and is linked with important cities like Hyderabad (617 km), Banglore (248 km), Chennai (151 km) ,Vijayawada (380 km) etc, through good roadways.
